Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how SolSim ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the SolSim Chrome extension (the "Extension"). SolSim is a paper trading simulator for cryptocurrencies. It does not involve real money or real cryptocurrency transactions.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
a. Information You Provide Directly (Simulated Wallet Data):
• When you create a simulated wallet, we generate and store a simulated public address, private key, and recovery phrase. These are not real blockchain credentials and cannot be used to access any real cryptocurrency.
• You may choose to provide a name for your simulated wallet.
• We store the simulated balances of cryptocurrencies in your wallet, including Solana (SOL) and other tokens.
• We record your simulated "buy" and "sell" transactions, including the type of transaction, cryptocurrency symbol, amount, price, total value, and timestamp.
• We may store information about token accounts you have closed.
b. Information We Collect Automatically:
Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about how you use the Extension. This includes events such as when the Extension is installed or uninstalled, when you open the popup, when you complete the onboarding process, and when you perform simulated trades. This helps us improve the Extension.
Preferences: We store your preferences, such as whether you have dismissed certain prompts (e.g., the username promo).
c. Information We Fetch from Third Parties (Not Stored Long-Term):
Cryptocurrency Price Data: We fetch real-time price data for Solana (SOL) from api.diadata.org and for other cryptocurrencies from a proxy server at albertramirezmd.ddns.net. This data is used to calculate the value of your simulated holdings and is not stored long-term. We also store the Solana price in chrome storage.
Token Metadata: We also fetch the token name and icon, from the same sources to properly label tokens in your holdings list.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
• To Provide the Simulation: The core function of SolSim is to provide a paper trading simulation. We use your simulated wallet data, transaction history, and fetched price data to display your portfolio, calculate PnL, and enable simulated trading.
• To Improve the Extension: We use anonymized usage data to understand how users interact with the Extension, identify bugs, and make improvements.
• To Personalize Your Experience: We use your preferences to customize the Extension's behavior (e.g., hiding prompts you've dismissed).
• To Backup and Restore Your Data: We use Supabase to back up your simulated wallet data. This allows you to restore your data if you reinstall the Extension or use it on a different device.
3. Data Sharing
We share information in the following ways:
Supabase: We use Supabase (a third-party service) to store backups of your simulated wallet data. This includes your simulated public address, private key, mnemonic, wallet name, holdings, and transactions. You can find Supabase's privacy policy here: https://supabase.com/privacy.
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data. Google Analytics may collect your IP address and other information about your browser and device. You can find Google Analytics' privacy policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Dia Data and Proxy Server: When fetching price data, your IP address is transmitted to api.diadata.org and albertramirezmd.ddns.net. We do not control the privacy practices of these services.
No Other Sharing: We do not sell your information to any third parties. We do not share your simulated wallet data with any other third parties except as described above.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Your simulated wallet data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API and is backed up to Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Your Choices
Uninstall the Extension: You can uninstall the Extension at any time. This will remove the locally stored data. To delete your backup data on Supabase please email us (See section 9).
Google Analytics Opt-Out: You can opt-out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6. Children's Privacy
SolSim is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
7. Third-Party Websites
The Extension interacts with third-party websites (DexScreener, Axiom Trade, Neo Bullx). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those websites.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
